350 Sac newsletter, October 6, 2016:
Another Day, Another Victory!!!

We love to report good news! Yesterday (Oct. 5), the San Luis Obispo Planning Commission voted to reject Phillip 66’s proposed oil train facility that would have brought several explosive oil trains a week through Sacramento. 350 Sacramento has been working for 3 years to stop these oil trains. Many thanks to all who signed petitions, wrote letters, spoke at hearings, marched and rallied. And a special thanks to the SCUSD Board of Education who cared enough about their students and staff to sent a letter in opposition to these dangerous trains.

Coming on the heels of the Benicia City Council’s rejection of the Valero project last week, it feels like a turning point. All over the country brave people are standing up to stop fossil fuel infrastructure and build up renewable alternatives. Let’s take a moment to relish this important victory in the struggle for a livable future.
