Report from LA: Sacramento activists join the proud global movement to Break Free
Nine local activists representing 350 Sacramento attended the Break Free from Fossil Fuels action in LA. The event focused on the blatant oil drilling occurring throughout the area. The action made quite an impact, especially the incredibly powerful art present at the rally.
There were massive puppets of Bernie Sanders, Jerry Brown, and others alongside beautiful banners and posters. The large oil trains poster made by our own Brian Shobe, carried by Brandon Martinez, was a great hit at the rally and even attracted the attention of Bill McKibben himself!
While this was a smaller turnout than last year's March Against Fracking in Oakland, overall, it was another successful action in the midst of the serious impacts of climate change. We are proud, as always, to stand with the activists of LA and other communities across California.
